Rann Utsav Tent City Booking – Everything You Need to Plan Your Stay

Rann Utsav is Gujarat Tourism’s annual festival held at the edge of the Great Rann of Kutch, and the official tent city is where most visitors stay. We cover tent categories, current prices, how to book, and what is included so you can plan your trip without guesswork.

What Is the Rann Utsav Tent City?

The tent city is a temporary luxury camp set up every year near Dhordo village in Kutch, Gujarat. It runs from November through February, covering the full festival season and the famous full-moon nights over the white salt desert.

Gujarat Tourism Authority (GTPL) manages the official tent city. There are also a handful of private camps nearby, but the GTPL tent city is the largest and the one most people refer to when they search for rann utsav booking.

The location sits roughly 85 km from Bhuj, which is the nearest major city with a railway station and airport.

Tips Before You Book

If you’re planning to visit during a full moon, try to book your stay about 4–6 weeks ahead. Those dates are very popular, so tents fill up fast and prices usually go up too.

It’s also a good idea to keep a copy of your booking confirmation handy — either on your phone or printed out. Staff at the camp entrance usually check booking details before letting vehicles into the tent city.
